GUEST GUIDELINES AND RESORT POLICIES

 

Check in/check out

  • Check in time is 1 PM, and check out time is 11 AM. Any delay will result in an extra charge of ₹ 500 per hour.

 

Cancellation policy:-

Cancellation of confirmed bookings will be treated as follows:

  • No refund if cancellation is effected within 7 days prior to check in date
  • 75% refund will be issued if cancellation is effected within 11 to 15 days prior to check in date
  • 90% refund will be issued if cancellation is effected beyond 16 days prior to check in date
  • The guesthouse may at its discretion and without liability or cost to itself at any time cancel or terminate a guest’s booking in the event of incompatible behaviour of the guest who shall, under such circumstances, not be entitled to any refund.

The mode of refund(if any) will be as follows

  • The guesthouse shall issue an account payee cheque or initiate an online transfer within 15 days or receipts of written request.
  • No interest will be payable for such amount refunded.

 

Safety advisory:-

  • Guests are advised against walking or cycling around the property after 6PM due to the presence of wild animals such as elephants and wild boars.
  • Please remain in your rooms from 8 PM to 6 AM, as wandering around after 6 PM is extremely dangerous and may lead to fatal consequences.
  • Do not venture beyond the fence towards the forest, as entering the forest is a punishable offence and can attract steep fines or imprisonment. The management will not be responsible for guest safety.

 

Accommodation policy:-

Tour Operators/ Foreign drivers

  • As much as we like to accommodate all guests, given our focus on families and groups, we do not allow bookings from stags(men only groups). This has also been communicated on different booking sites ( wherever possible) that we’re listed on. In case you have inadvertently booked for stags,  we would request you to kindly cancel the booking.  We also call all  guests to confirm this and cancel the booking at our end in case you are unable to. We will ensure that there are no cancellations charges levied for the cancelled booking.
  • Pets are NOT allowed.
  • We consider children 12 years and above to be adults while children between 6-11 are charged accordingly.
  • Guides or tour operators can stay at an additional cost or can stay at Masinagudi Town at Xaviers Lodge (Approx ₹ 500 per night)
  • No rate discrimination between Indian and foreign tourists
  • Accommodation is not provided for the drivers. They can use the staff facility for washrooms as well as showers. They can stay at Masinagudi Town at Xaviers Lodge.( Approx ₹500 per night)

 

Facility Usage:-

  • We encourage guests and their children to enjoy all the available facilities while always requesting parent’s presence with the children.
  • Parking: there are designated parking spots for vehicles inside the property.

 

Valuables:-

  • Guests are urged not to bring any high value items- jewellery or other valuables to the premises. The management is not responsible for any loss.

 

Conduct and dress code:

  • Loud music and shouting are strictly prohibited. Guests are expected to respect and adhere to the serene surroundings
  • Guests are requested to keep noise to a minimum so as to not disrupt the wildlife experience of others
  • Curfew post 10 PM till 6 AM
  • All guests are requested always to present themselves suitably groomed within the guesthouse especially in the dining area. Lungies, Vests and nighties are not permissible
  • Smoke alarms are installed in the rooms. Therefore, smoking cigarettes is banned and strictly prohibited inside the rooms and the public areas; there are designated spots for smoking cigarettes. Hookahs is/are strictly prohibited. Any narcotics consumption are/is strictly prohibited and will be dealt with accordingly by the law of the land.

 

Fire safety:-

  • Lighting fires on the property is prohibited to prevent forest fires.

 

Documentation & Foreigner Policy:-

  • Foreign guests are required to submit passports/visas to the receptionist /manager on arrival to fill out Form C for follow up with authorities.
  • All guests must provide proof of identification and sign the register upon arrival
  • No rate discrimination between Indian and foreign tourists

 

Wildlife Interactions/Safaris:-

  • Monkeys may pose as a threat; guests must keep doors and windows closed. Feeding wild animals is strictly prohibited
  • Dark clothing is required during Safari
  • Warm clothes can be carried
  • The application of perfumes and after shave lotions is not recommended for safari
  • Do not alight from the safari vehicle at any point of time during the safari

 

Surveillance:-

  • CCTV camera are installed outdoors for management and authorities’ surveillance.

 

Alcohol Policy:-

  • Consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited. The management is not responsible for legal consequences if guests  are found with or consuming alcohol during police raids

 

Restaurant Hours:-

Food timings

  • Breakfast ( 8.00 am – 10.00 am)
  • Lunch ( 1.00 pm -2.00 pm)
  • Dinner ( 8.00pm- 10.00pm)
  • Guests requesting late dinner will have their meals packed in casseroles at the restaurant. There is no room service for meals.

 

Additional requests:-

  • This is a vegetarian restaurant , and for the non-Veg requirements the same is being contracted to a family staying nearby for the last decade.
  • Orders for snacks should be placed at least 1 hour before service(4.00 pm- 5.00 pm)
  • Guests not having meals at the restaurants should inform the manager 2 hours before
  • Guests staying for more than one night are requesting to handover room keys for housekeeping

 

Environmental Responsibility:-

  • Single use Plastic, pre packed plastic water bottles have been banned in the Nilgiris District. The administration will check your vehicle for these banned products at the check post at Kakkanala  or Mudumali check post at Thorapalli. Incase you use these bottles anywhere in the Nilgiris there is a steep fine of Rs 500 – Rs 10000 depending on the quantity and quality of plastic used.
  • Five litre water cans are only allowed. Pet bottles can be used to store water.
  • Do not flush sanitary napkins and children’s diapers to prevent sewage line blockages
  • Avoid littering the property and use designated bins. Plastic bags and bottles are prohibited, and possession will attract fines.

 

Pricing and Bargaining:-

  • Room rent and food price bills are fixed. Kindly refer to the menu cards before placing orders. Bargaining is not entertained.

 

Outside food and cooking:-

  • Outside food and cooking are strictly prohibited inside the resort premises.

 

Gate Timings:-

  • The resort gate will close at 9.00 pm and reopen at 5.45. am

 

Nighttime restrictions :-

  • Guests will not be permitted outside the resort after 9.00 pm
  • Violations will be reported to forest and law authorities attracting fines/imprisonment
  • The management/staff will not be liable for guests’ safety.

 

Guest Responsibility:-

  • The safety of the guests and their children lie solely with the guests

  • The registered guest is responsible for informing co-guests /companions about these terms and conditions and ensuring adherence.
